Cosimas Story
Sometimes I wonder if anyone can even see me.
The world outside was cold and loud when I was alone with my siblings on a factory site. We called for our mom, every day, every night. Sometimes it sounded as if someone answered – but it was only the wind. We were small, defenseless, and so endlessly alone.
Then people came. Hands that lifted us up. Voices that soothed. For the first time, I felt warmth, felt safe – yet a piece of fear remained inside me.
Now I sit with my six siblings in a box at the animal shelter.
We cuddle together because we have to give each other support. The caregivers take care of us, bring us food, clean water, and sometimes a gentle hand. These brief touches mean everything to me, but they always pass by too quickly. Afterwards, the waiting returns.
I am Cosima.
Quiet, cautious, but full of hope. I watch people, learn their voices, and when someone stops, my heart beats faster. I want to give trust, play, be loved – and finally feel that I am not just one of seven.
I dream of a home.
Of a person who sees me, understands me, and protects my little heart. A place where I can sleep safely, laugh, and simply be myself. If you give me this chance, I will show every day how much love I have to give.
Please don’t walk away.
I am waiting here – with big eyes and even bigger hope.
Yours
