Herbies Story
Since puppyhood, I have been living in the Help Labus animal shelter – together with my sister HOLLY. This is my entire life so far. I know the routines, the voices, the fences. But I don't know what it’s like to be part of a family.
Here, I am naturally cared for, have learned to get along with other dogs, to play and to wait. Waiting for something I can’t quite imagine – but deep inside, I know: there must be more out there. More than the same days again and again. More than life behind bars.
I am an active, sporty dog. I have energy, curiosity, and a desire for movement. I want to run, sniff, learn, experience. But everyday life in the shelter offers hardly any opportunities for that. My body wants to unfold, my mind wants to be challenged – and my heart finally wants to belong.
What do I wish for? A home that gives me structure and freedom. People who take me outside, show me the world, work with me, and help me learn all the things I haven’t been able to until now. Because I am still inexperienced: I don’t know walks on a leash, no couch, no doorbell, no life indoors. I don’t know any rules – but I am ready to learn them. With patience, with love, with your help.
I am not a finished dog – I am a rough diamond. Whoever gives me time will get a loyal, smart, and active companion. I love people, am open, friendly, and full of potential. I just need someone who sees me – not only as a shelter dog, but as a dog with a future, as a dream dog.
