Maybe this is the first time youâre seeing my face. To me, that means hope.
I live on an abandoned industrial site in Romania. People used to work here; today, everything is silent. But we dogs have stayed. Many of us have sought refuge here. Now they say the site could soon be closed permanently. No one knows what will happen to us then.
Without the people who sometimes bring us food, we wouldnât stand a chance.
A kind woman named Lila came to visit me. She brought food and took photos and videos of me. She isnât a professional photographerâbut she wanted the world to know that I exist. That I wonât simply be forgotten.
Iâm a friendly, people-oriented dog. Iâm happy to hear every kind voice and feel every gentle touch. Although I havenât had a good life, I still believe that there are good people in the world.
Iâm not wishing for a grand adventure. I only want a home. A place where Iâm welcome. Someone who loves me, takes me for walks and shows me what it feels like to be safe and cared for. A soft bed, regular meals and the feeling of finally having arrived somewhereâthat would be the greatest happiness for me.
Maybe you are the person Iâve been waiting for all this time.
