Novas Story
NOVA – a new star searching for her home❣️
I am NOVA – a name that means "new star." It suits me because despite everything behind me, I still try to shine. Not loud, not bright, but quiet, warm, and steady. Just like older stars that have seen a lot.
One morning, around eight o'clock, I stood by the roadside – alone, abandoned, on my way to the Help Labus animal shelter. I did not know where to go. I only knew I had to wait until someone saw me. And so I stood there – a senior who did not understand why her life suddenly became so quiet.
Now I am safe at the shelter. I am microchipped, so they know I come from a remote village called Mastacani. But no one asked for me. No one missed me.
Here, I receive food, attention, and a place to rest. And although my heart has a few cracks, I try to regain trust. I am calm, gentle, and grateful for every kind gesture. My gaze is a bit tired, but it still holds warmth. And hope. Because even a star that has seen many nights can shine again.
Sometimes I think maybe I am a little supernova – not because I explode loudly, but because despite everything that has happened to me, I want to shine brighter once more. For someone who sees me. For someone who holds me. For someone who shows me that my life still matters.
I wish for a home where I can spend my final phase of life. With people who understand older dogs. Who have a calm daily routine, maybe a house with a garden, perhaps a spot on the terrace where I can lie and watch the world. I am a quiet companion who does not ask for much – just a place where I can arrive. A place where I will no longer be abandoned but allowed to stay. Forever.
I am NOVA – and I hope my light may shine again for someone.
